Dr. Liang Han

Principal Investigator, Associate Professor

Dr. Han earned her Ph.D. from a joint program with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and Rutgers. She received both her B.S. and M.S. from Tsinghua University in China. She is a recipient of several awards, including the Pfizer Aspire Dermatology Award and the K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award. Her research interests include somatosensation and respiratory diseases.

Katy Lawson

Lab Manager

Katy graduated from the University of Florida in 2018 with a B.S. in biology, with natural science as her focus. After a some time in entomology, she joined the Han lab in 2019. As the lab manager and head technician, she trains all personnel and knows how to do nearly every technique the Han lab employs. In her free time, Katy enjoys reading and writing fiction, indoor rock climbing, outdoor hiking, and college football.

Ryan Stewart

Lab Tech

Ryan graduated from Georgia State University with a B.S. in Neuroscience in 2023. With the intent of going on to medical school, he currently works as a research technician. He spends his spare time weightlifting, learning to play guitar, and exploring the hiking of north GA.

Shuang Wu

PhD Student

Shuang is currently a Biology PhD student rotating in the Han lab. She graduated from Tsinghua University in 2024 with a B.S. in chemical biology for pharmaceutical science. With a great interest in molecular and cellular biology, she is excited to enhance practical lab skills and explore sensory neurons in mice. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking dishes from her hometown, playing board games with friends, and traveling.

Vishnu Yella

Undergraduate Student

Vishnu is a second-year Neuroscience major at Georgia Tech. His research interests focus on sensory neuroscience, molecular dynamics in viral entry mechanisms, and graphical medicine applications for improving health literacy. In his free time, he enjoys running, cooking, and woodworking.
